Their six children

Josephine Lucy Gillespie and Charles Wesley Erskine had six children:

  • Josephine (Auntie Jo) born December 4, 1893 and died March 1, 1983 at age 90. She married Charles McClenahan Nesbitt, born May 18, 1890 and died on May 4, 1954 at age 64.
  • Elizabeth Graham, died in infancy.
  • LOUIS GILLESPIE, (Grandad), born at East 63rd Street, NYC on June 7, 1896 and died on January 24, 1980 at age 84.
  • Margaret died in infancy.
  • Helen Grace (Aunt Helen) born 1900 and died 1989 at age 89. Married Donald (Uncle Don) Stagg Clinchy, born 1901 and died 1990 at age 89. Their senses of humor were legendary. Uncle Don and Grandad exchanged ugly ties every Christmas.
  • Louise McLean, born 1902 and died 1984 at age 82, married William James Johnston, born 1901 and died in 1971 at age 70.

    • Sue Turtle married to Frank Millard had 2 children:
      • John Millard married Sara Jan Podlubny

    • Dale Turtle married Dudley Johnson had 2 children:
      • Jennifer Johnson
      • Dudley Johnson, Jr.
    • Joan Turtle
  • Wesley Nesbitt who married Kay Carman
  • Virginia Nesbitt who married Ed Haydu and had 3 children:
    • Bruce Haydu
    • Chris Haydu married Rose Allegro
    • J.R Haydu

Louis G. Erskine, Sr., married Mirian Wilkes Birks and had 4 children:

  • Louis Gilespie (Gil) Erskine Jr. who married Zilpha (Dotsie) Slosson they had 3 children:
    • Terry Erskine married Joel Mark Ray and had no children. Joel has 3 children - Brittany, Colby and Collin
    • Birks Erskine married Nancy Edmondson and had 1 child. They divorced and Birks is now married to Maureen Clark (they had no children together but Maureen has 2 children from a previous marriage Dillon and Catherine).
      • Kendall Erskine who married Michael Mason and had 2 children:
        • Riley Mason
        • Cooper Mason
    • Louis Gillespie Erskine III (Gip) married Julie Hargens and had 2 children. They divorced and Gip is now married to Brenda Schoenfeld and she has one son Diego from a previous marriage.
      • Emma Erskine, Engaged to Said Baradei

  • Birks Erskine who died in the Battle of the Bulge on his 21st birthday
  • Ron Erskine married Erika Dunkelberg and had 3 children:
    • Ron Erskine married Kate and they have 2 children Timber and Colby
    • Bruce Erskine
    • Chris Erskine who married Heather and they have 2 sons Nicholas and Alec
  • Shirley Erskine who Married Richard (Dick) Westcott and had 4 children:
    • Rick Westcott (deceased) married Suzanne Hall (who has a daughter Sarah Westcott whom Rick adopted).  Together they had 1 child, Kim Speerschneider.
    • Diana Westcott married Dave Paterson and have 2 children:
      • Wes Paterson married Glynnis and they have 3 children John, Josie and Libby
      • Jensen Westcott married Adam Pincus
    • Marge Wescott (deceased)
    • Jim Westcott married Susan Riemer and have 1 child, Calla who married Max Heineken and they have 1 child Bailey Margery Heineken.

Helen Erskine married Don Clinchy and did not have children.

Louise Erskine married Bill Johnston and had 2 children:

  • Bill Johnston married Beryl Zebley then married Ginny Carman and had 3 children:

  • Marty Johnston married Larry Wilkinson then married Dick Chodosh. They had 3 children:
